CD-DA Extractor可以把數位音效從光碟或是DVD中抓成WAV、RAW或MP3檔案。這個數位的聲音可以利用任何ACM（聲音壓縮管理員）驅動程式加以壓縮，所以壓縮後的檔案可以像是PCM、ADPCM、CCITT a-law/u-law以及MP3 格式。CD-DA Extractor支援ATAPI、SCSI-2和SCSI-3的設備，而且擁有儲存並編輯音軌名稱、播放聲音、進行音軌同步等能力。另外它包括了檔案的編碼和解碼功能（MP3、WMA或是WAV 轉MP3、WMA或WAV）以及數位的CD播放器，並支援Pentium III SSE 以及Windows Media Audio標記。這個更新版支援了CD-TEXT，加強了取樣頻率的轉換程式，單一檔案的錄製以及改善的使用者介面。
